It was good to be away with all my natural family together over the last 4 weeks. It is good to be back with our spiritual family too. Thanks for all your prayers on our behalf and we thank God for His protection and blessing in our time away. This year we continue to be focused on the theme of “Together”. It is a theme with many facets, but the bottom line is that we need to draw close together in fellowship, service and support and close to the Lord in order to be the kind of people that God desires fulfilling His purpose and entering into the fullness of blessing He wants to give. I am very keen to find the secrets of living out my Christian life and knowing God’s favour in all that I do. I long for God’s eyes to be upon me so that His grace will abound to me and I desire that for all of you too. I am sure that one of those secrets is found in the verse for today which will also be the verse for today’s message. We need to learn to love righteousness and hate wickedness like Jesus. My impression is that we don’t love righteousness and hate wickedness enough and that increases our insecurity. We all need to know that no evil will fall upon our life because our church environment is one that does not tolerate evil and sin. Please work together with us to create an environment where righteousness is magnetic and wickedness repulsive.
Hebrews 1:8-9 ESV
But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”
